The main driving force behind Zeste comes from a deeply personal place. Growing up, we often watch TV commercials touting high sugar beverages as healthy. Being exposed to highly sweetened beverages from a very young age, we grown into adults with unhealthy habits of sugar consumption. We’ve lost friends and witnessed the devastating effects of excessive sugar intake. Some of us have personally experienced health issues caused by unhealthy beverage consumption. Increasingly, young people including children, are diagnosed with diabetes and more are at risk of heart attacks. This is nowhere near normal.

Singapore has the 2nd highest proportion of diabetics in the developed world. An average Singaporean consumes a whopping 60 grams of sugar a day, more than double the WHO’s recommended limit of 25 grams. 60% of Singaporeans consume more than 200 empty calories in sugary beverages a day. What’s worse is that not only do many people not drink enough water to keep hydrated, they often consume sugary drinks as a substitute for water. However, unlike water, these unhealthy beverages often don’t help with hydration.

It takes time and dedication to create a great product. Zeste is a labour of love. Nothing was done in haste during the course of bringing Zeste water from ideation to realisation. Powered by heart and grit, the development of Zeste was a thoughtful process that drove us to pursue excellence, making sure our water tastes better than tossing fruits into water. It was a 2 year-long process forged by meticulous planning, vigorous testing, and intensive consultations with experts from around the world. It was also a journey of self-discovery and introspection as we imbue our brand with our ethos and core values. Our water sums up everything that we stand for: a deep sense of ethics, tenacity, contemplation and self-reflection, mirrored in our actions every step of the way.

Every batch of Zeste water is tested by our expert technicians for consistency and safe consumption, meeting the most stringent quality control and manufacturing requirements before being dispatched. Our filling factory, with over 25 years of experience in hot filling bottles, comprises of a specialised R&D and lab testing team, state of the art factory equipment, high production capacity, and detection devices. We’re certified HACCP, ISO 22000, BRC Global Standard for Food Safety, and Good Manufacturing Practice.
